"It's funny, actually,"
she said, breathed out her bitter little laugh,
"It's funny how he told me to go yet his entire existence is my home.
I have nowhere to go."
He looked at her, tasted her bitterness,
and he responded,
"Lucky you. She never even told me to go.
But she was never there.
I'm practically nothing."
